Sound healing is enjoying a resurgence in popularity as people are searching for natural, drug-free ways to improve their health and wellbeing. Sound healing courses are now available in many cities around the world, teaching people how to use sound to heal mind, body and soul.

If you’re interested in exploring this ancient technique, here’s everything you need to know about sound healing courses, including what you’ll learn and how to find a reputable teacher.

What is sound healing?

Sound healing is an ancient healing practice that uses vibration to encourage balance and harmony in the body. Proponents of sound healing believe that the human body is composed of vibration, and that illness and disease occur when our vibration is out of sync. By using specific frequencies and vibrations, sound healing can realign our vibration and promote physical, mental and emotional healing.

There is a growing body of scientific evidence to support the efficacy of sound healing. Studies have shown that sound healing can be effective in reducing stress, anxiety and pain. It has also been shown to improve sleep quality and contribute to overall physical and mental wellbeing.

What will I learn in a sound healing course?

A sound healing course will typically cover the following topics:

  • The history and origins of sound healing
  • How sound healing works
  • The different types of sound healing
  • How to use sound healing for specific conditions
  • How to create a sound healing space
  • How to use sound healing instruments
  • Safety considerations
  • The different types of sound healing instruments
  • How to care for sound healing instruments

Most courses will include a practical component, so you can experience first-hand the vibrational effects of sound healing.
